Madeline Haydon founded nutpods out of frustration. Ten years later, she finds herself on Inc.’s prestigious Female Founders list.
Haydon was pregnant and on vacation at Lake Tahoe when she couldn’t find any dairy-free creamer options at a diner. She decided then and there that she wanted to launch a company. She spent the next year developing the company’s first product, an almond and coconut blend creamer, and raised $32,000 on Kickstarter.
Today, Bellevue-based nutpod offers 10 products, its latest being a new line of barista oatmilks specifically for home espresso drinks. The company has developed a cult-like following among dairy-free and sugar-free consumers and is now the No. 2 plant-based creamer by sales volume in the United States.
Inc. recognized Haydon as one of 200 women on its sixth-annual Female Founders list “for maintaining high customer satisfaction and profitability.”
