REASONS TO ‘DO THE PUYALLUP’
Sure, there’s the rodeo and all manner of sticky fair food, but the fair is serving up an impressive scoop of classic American music, too. First, catch one of country’s greatest renaissance men, Kenny Rogers (9/13, 7:30 p.m.) who, after six decades in the business, still knows when to hold ’em and when to fold ’em. Then, get on the road again to hear the soothing voice and strums of legendary country/folk icon Willie Nelson (9/16, 7:30 p.m.) and, perhaps more importantly, check out his new short ’do—the first in more than 25 years! Next, join Hall and Oates (9/22, 7:30 p.m.) on their “Do What You Want, Be What You Are” tour and sing along to hits like “Private Eyes” and “Maneater.” Finally, join Seattle’s rock ’n’ roll sister duo Ann and Nancy Wilson with Heart (9/25, 7:30 p.m.), which released a new studio recording in August titled Red Velvet Car.
