Scoop: Radar Hair and Records

Radar Hair and Records caters to overgrown music lovers

Have you ever found yourself in mid-haircut, wishing your salon also offered a selection of vinyl LPs and vintage music gear? Us, too! Thankfully, Radar Hair and Records has landed in SoDo. Open since July, the funky space combines the talents of owners Betsy Hansen (formerly of Rusk, Vain and Helmet Head salons) and Johnny Samra (an avid vinyl collector for 17 years) in a brightly painted warehouse stocked with antiques, records and vintage clothing—which also operates as a full-service hair salon. Avid supporters of local arts, as well as what Hansen calls “Northwest punk-garage-weirdo music,” the husband-and-wife team hosts bimonthly in-shop fashion, art and music events. Time to put this spirited shop on your, um, radar. 2724 First Ave. S, Suite A; 206.402.4549; radarhairandrecords.com
